Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 100 grams Gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 50 grams Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 60 milliliters Milk
  • 1 whole Large egg
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 700 milliliters Tomato sauce
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and pork. Add the gluten-free breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Use your hands to mix all the ingredients until well combined but do not overwork the mixture.

Step 3

Shape the mixture into meatballs about the size of a golf ball, placing them onto a plate or tray lined with parchment paper as you go.

Step 4

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Add the meatballs in batches to avoid crowding and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove the browned meatballs from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 6

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step 7

Pour in the tomato sauce and add the dried oregano. Stir everything together and bring to a gentle simmer.

Step 8

Return the meatballs to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, allowing the meatballs to cook through and absorb the sauce's flavors.

Step 9

Serve the gluten-free polpette hot, over your choice of gluten-free pasta, rice, or alongside a salad for a delightful meal.
