Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 4 Gluten-free hamburger buns
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 1 Tomato
  • 4 Cheddar cheese slices
  • 8 slices Pickles
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 4 teaspoons Mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix to keep the burgers tender.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a 3/4-inch thick patty.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Wait until it's nice and hot.

Step 4

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side without moving the patties.

Step 5

Flip the burgers and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium to medium-well doneness. If using cheese, add the cheddar slices during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.

Step 6

While the burgers are cooking, slice the tomato into about 1/4-inch thick slices and prepare the other toppings.

Step 7

Toast the gluten-free hamburger buns on the grill or in the skillet cut side down until golden brown.

Step 8

To assemble the burgers, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, followed by ketchup and mustard according to taste.

Step 9

Place a lettuce leaf on top of the mayonnaise, add a slice of tomato, then the cooked burger patty with melted cheese.

Step 10

Top with two slices of pickles and the top half of the bun.

Step 11

Serve immediately with your favorite sides like gluten-free fries or a fresh salad.
