Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 gluten-free hamburger buns
  • 4 leaves lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 8 slices pickles
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup mustard
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 3

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4-inch thick.

Step 4

Brush each side of the patties with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Place the patties on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on the first side, until the bottom is nicely seared and brown.

Step 6

Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the patties reach your desired level of doneness and the cheese is melted.

Step 7

While the burgers are cooking, slice the tomato and onion into thin rounds.

Step 8

Toast the gluten-free buns lightly on the grill or in a skillet until golden, about 1 minute.

Step 9

To assemble, spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by the cheeseburger patty.

Step 10

Layer 2 slices of pickles on top of each patty, then add a slice of tomato and onion.

Step 11

Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
