Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Gluten-free pasta
  • 1 pound Ground meat (beef, chicken, or turkey)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 14 ounces Crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 0.25 cup Fresh basil, chopped (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add gluten-free pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the ground meat to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, then add crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Step 6

Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 7

After simmering, stir in grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce.

Step 8

Add the cooked gluten-free pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

Step 9

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the pasta and cover the skillet. Let it sit on low heat for 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 10

Serve the cheesy ground meat pasta immediately, garnished with fresh basil, if desired.
