Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.5 cup Gluten-free BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 4 pieces Gluten-free burger buns
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium Tomato, sliced
  • 0.5 medium Red onion, sliced
  • 4 ounces Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 slices Pickles

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about 3/4-inch thick. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Step 3

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Place the beef patties on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side, or until the underside is nicely charred and the grill marks are visible.

Step 5

Flip the burgers and brush each patty with a generous layer of gluten-free BBQ sauce. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, until they reach the desired doneness (160°F for well-done).

Step 6

In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty, and close the lid of the grill to melt the cheese.

Step 7

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the gluten-free buns on the grill until golden brown.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers by layering the bottom bun with lettuce, a BBQ beef patty, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles.

Step 9

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with additional gluten-free BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
