Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 large, minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon, minced ginger
  • 1 medium head, thinly sliced green cabbage
  • 3 medium, julienned carrots
  • 3 tablespoons gluten-free soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 stalks, sliced scallions
  • 1 tablespoon, toasted sesame seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the sesame oil and heat until shimmering.

Step 2

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.

Step 3

Introduce the sliced cabbage and julienned carrots to the wok. Stir-fry for approximately 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix the gluten-free soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and red pepper flakes. Pour this mixture over the cabbage and carrot in the pan.

Step 5

Continue to stir-fry the vegetables in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to coat evenly.

Step 6

Add the sliced scallions and toss quickly to combine well.

Step 7

Season the stir-fry with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat.

Step 8

Transfer the stir-fry to a serving platter and garnish with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
