Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 4 pieces Gluten-free buns
  • 4 pieces Large eggs
  • 4 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 1 large Tomato (sliced)
  • 1 small Red onion (sliced)
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese (optional, gluten-free)
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well integrated.

Step 2

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, ensuring they are of even thickness for uniform cooking.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties to the skillet.

Step 4

Cook the patties for about 4–5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). If using cheese, place a slice on each burger about 1 minute before the burgers are done, covering the pan to help the cheese melt.

Step 5

While the burgers are cooking, slice the gluten-free buns and lightly toast them in another skillet or toaster.

Step 6

In the same skillet after the burgers are cooked, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and carefully crack the eggs into the skillet, cooking them sunny-side-up or however preferred until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 7

Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.

Step 8

Layer each bun with a lettuce leaf, a burger patty, a slice of tomato, slices of red onion, and then top with the fried egg.

Step 9

Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
