Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 large Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 150 milliliters Water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 8 pieces Gluten-free soft taco shells
  • 0.5 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 large Avocado, sliced
  • 1 whole Lime, cut into wedges
  • 1 cup Shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded (optional, ensure gluten-free)
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream (optional, ensure gluten-free)

Directions

Step 1

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until it is browned and cooked through, approximately 7-10 minutes.

Step 4

4. Drain excess fat from the skillet if necessary.

Step 5

5. Reduce heat to medium and stir in cumin powder, chili powder, ground paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Step 6

6. Add tomato paste and water to the beef mixture, stirring well to combine. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

Step 7

7. While the beef mixture is simmering, warm the gluten-free taco shells according to package instructions.

Step 8

8. Assemble the tacos by spooning the beef mixture into each shell, and then topping with shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, avocado slices, and a sprinkle of cilantro.

Step 9

9. Serve the tacos with a wedge of lime and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
