  • 2 medium Apples (peeled, cored, and diced small)
  • 50 grams Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons Milk (or plant-based milk)

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, xanthan gum, and salt. Mix well.

Step 2

Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using your fingers, rub the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs with some larger pieces.

In a small bowl, mix the ice-cold water with the lemon juice. Gradually add this to the flour and butter mixture, stirring with a fork until the dough starts to come together.
