Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 bunch asparagus
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 stalks green onions
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoons red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Slice the chicken breast into thin strips and set aside.

Step 2

Trim the woody ends off the asparagus and cut the stalks into 2-inch pieces.

Step 3

Peel and mince the ginger and garlic.

Step 4

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Mix until smooth and set aside.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken strips to the pan, season with black pepper, and stir fry for 4-5 minutes until cooked through and lightly browned. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
