Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 unit Egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cups Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, minced (optional)
  • 0.5 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

Step 2

Gently heat the milk until it is warm (110°F/43°C). Stir in the melted butter and lightly beaten egg.

Step 3

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix with a wooden spoon or a stand mixer until a soft dough forms.

Step 4

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If using a stand mixer, knead on medium speed for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 6

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions.

Step 7

Flatten each portion into a small disc and place about 2 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese in the center. Fold the edges of the dough over the cheese and pinch tightly to seal into a ball.

Step 8

Place the filled dough balls seam-side down in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover loosely and let rise for 20 minutes.

Step 9

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 10

In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, parsley (if using), and garlic powder.

Step 11

Brush the tops of the rolls with olive oil or melted butter, then sprinkle the Parmesan and herb mixture over them.

Step 12

Bake in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and fragrant.

Step 13

Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy while warm and gooey!
