Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.75 cups Whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon (optional, for coating)
  • 0.5 cups Powdered sugar or granulated sugar (for coating)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a non-stick doughnut pan or spray it with baking spray.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Step 3

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 4

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the doughnuts dense.

Step 5

Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a resealable plastic bag with the corner snipped off. Pipe the batter evenly into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the doughnuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 7

Allow the doughnuts to cool in the pan for 2–3 minutes, then carefully transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8

If desired, prepare your coating. For a cinnamon sugar coating, mix ground cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Dip each doughnut lightly in melted butter, then coat with the cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy! These doughnuts are best eaten fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
