Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the chicken thighs on both sides with salt and black pepper.
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy. Flip the chicken over and sear the other side for 2-3 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
