Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Deglaze the skillet by adding the white wine (or chicken broth) and fresh lemon juice. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Simmer for 1-2 minutes to reduce slightly.
Lower the heat and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Stir until the butter is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing well to combine. If the pasta seems dry, add a small amount of the reserved pasta cooking water, a tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.
Stir in the chopped parsley and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper, if needed.
Serve immediately with a side of crusty bread and enjoy!
