Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 pieces burger buns
  • 4 slices sliced cheese (optional)
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices tomato slices
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 3

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4-inch thick. Use your thumb to create a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 4

Brush the patties lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Place the burger patties on the preheated grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (for medium doneness). Add the cheese slices during the last minute of cooking, if using.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 30 seconds until lightly golden.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom bun (if using), then layer with lettuce, tomato slices, the cooked burger patty, and the top bun.

Step 8

Serve the garlic burgers immediately with your favorite sides, such as fries or a salad.
