  • 0.5 cup dried apricots, halved
  • 0.5 cup golden raisins
  • 0.25 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a tagine or heavy-bottomed Dutch oven over medium heat.

Season the beef cubes with salt and black pepper. In batches, brown the beef on all sides, about 3 minutes per batch. Remove and set aside.

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the tagine. Sauté the chopped onion until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
