  • 6 whole Fresh oranges
  • 1 cup Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
  • 6 leaves Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the tops off the oranges about one-quarter of the way down and set the tops aside. Using a small paring knife or a spoon, carefully hollow out the pulp from each orange, leaving the outer shell intact. Reserve the orange pulp in a bowl.

Step 2

Place the empty orange shells and their tops in the freezer to chill while preparing the filling.

Step 3

Using a fine mesh strainer, extract the juice from the reserved orange pulp by pressing it through the strainer into a clean bowl or measuring cup. You will need approximately 1 cup of fresh orange juice.

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and orange juice until smooth and well combined.
