Ingredients

  • 450 grams fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 60 grams slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Wash the green beans and trim off the ends.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the butter over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the slivered almonds to the skillet and toast them, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove the almonds and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the green beans. Cook the beans over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender-crisp.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the green beans and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, to prevent the garlic from burning.

Step 6

Season the green beans with salt and pepper, and drizzle in the lemon juice. Stir to combine.

Step 7

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the toasted almonds over the green beans.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy!
