Ingredients

  • 12 pieces frog's legs
  • 500 ml buttermilk
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 750 ml vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 4 pieces lemon wedges (for serving)
  • 2 tbsp parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, soak the frog's legs in the buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to tenderize and remove any gaminess.

Step 2

In another large bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Remove the frog's legs from the buttermilk, allowing any excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each leg in the flour mixture until well coated. Place them on a plate and let rest for 5 minutes to help the coating adhere.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 175°C (350°F). Ensure the oil is deep enough to fully submerge the frog's legs.

Step 5

Carefully place the coated frog's legs into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches if necessary.

Step 6

Fry the frog's legs for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 7

Garnish the fried frog's legs with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over.

Step 8

Enjoy your crispy fried frog's legs while they're hot and fresh!
