Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Fresh crabs (cleaned and halved)
  • 1 cup Cornstarch

  • 4 pieces Red chilies (finely chopped)
  • 0.5 cup Tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 1 serving Cornstarch slurry (mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water)
  • 2 stalks Green onions (chopped for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Clean the crabs thoroughly and cut them in half. Crack the claws slightly using the back of a knife for easier eating.

Pat the crab pieces dry with a paper towel and coat them evenly with cornstarch.

Heat 3 cups of vegetable oil in a large wok or deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the crabs in batches until golden and slightly crispy, about 4 minutes per batch. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
