Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.75 cups unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 packets active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cups warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 pieces large eggs
  • 0.5 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cups unsalted butter, melted

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt.

Step 2

Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 3

In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in the warm milk. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Step 4

Add the yeast mixture and the eggs to the flour mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a tablespoon of flour at a time until manageable.

Step 5

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 6

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 7

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.

Step 8

Punch down the risen dough and press it evenly into the prepared baking pan.

Step 9

In a small bowl, mix the light brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the dough.

Step 10

Drizzle the melted butter over the cinnamon-sugar topping.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 12

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
