  • 3 slightly crushed cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons, sliced toasted almonds

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch, resulting in fluffier rice.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 4-5 minutes until translucent and lightly golden.

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
