Ingredients

  • 400 grams Frozen green beans
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoons Red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

Step 2

Once the oil is hot and shimmering, carefully add the frozen green beans to the skillet. Be cautious as the moisture from the frozen beans may cause the oil to splatter.

Step 3

Spread the green beans into an even layer and let them cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes to allow some charring.

Step 4

Using a spatula, stir the green beans and cook for another 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and have crisp edges.

Step 5

Lower the heat to medium and push the green beans to one side of the skillet. Add the minced garlic to the empty side of the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

Stir the garlic into the green beans, then add the soy sauce, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to coat the green beans evenly in the sauce.

Step 7

Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the liquid has mostly evaporated and the beans are well coated.

Step 8

Transfer the green beans to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
