Ingredients

  • 150 grams Red chili peppers (Bird’s eye chilies or cayenne)
  • 5 pieces Garlic cloves
  • 6 pieces Shallots
  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Palm sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon Tamarind paste
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 piece Lime (for juice)

Directions

Step 1

1. Wash and roughly chop the red chili peppers, garlic, shallots, and tomatoes.

2. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.

3. Add the chopped chilies, garlic, shallots, and tomatoes to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until softened and fragrant.

4. Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly before blending.
