In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, remaining sugar, and cardamom. Stir in the milk and yeast mixture.
Gradually add the flour and salt to the wet ingredients, about 1/2 cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
