Ingredients

  • 6 oz Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 2 tbsp Feta cheese, crumbled
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Olive oil
  • 1 whole Hamburger bun
  • 1 tsp Butter
  • 2 slices Red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 slice Tomato, sliced
  • 1 leaf Lettuce
  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a small bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Form the mixture into a patty about ¾ inch thick.

Step 3

Lightly coat the skillet or grill pan with olive oil. Place the beef patty onto the hot surface and cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side without pressing down on it.

Step 4

Flip the patty and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.

Step 5

Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese on top of the patty during the last minute of cooking so it softens slightly.

Step 6

While the patty cooks, butter the inside of the hamburger bun and toast it in a separate pan until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 7

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Layer the lettuce leaf, tomato slice, and red onion slices on top.

Step 8

Place the cooked burger patty with feta cheese onto the prepared bun. Add the top bun to complete the burger.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy!
