Ingredients

  • 300 g farfalle (bow-tie pasta)
  • 150 g smoked salmon
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 120 ml heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 piece garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 tbsp dill (fresh, chopped)
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 100 ml pasta water (reserved)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the farfalle according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 100 ml of the pasta cooking water before draining.

Step 2

While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 3

Add the cream cheese and heavy cream to the skillet. Stir to combine and allow the cream cheese to melt, forming a smooth sauce. Reduce the heat to low.

Step 4

Stir in the lemon juice, chopped fresh dill, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce gently for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Chop the smoked salmon into bite-sized pieces and add it to the sauce, stirring gently to combine. Cook for an additional minute to warm the salmon without overcooking it.

Step 6

Add the drained farfalle to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, use the reserved pasta water to thin it out to your desired consistency.

Step 7

Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Step 8

Serve the farfalle hot, garnished with extra dill or a wedge of lemon if desired.
