Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 1 cup (finely shredded) Green cabbage
  • 2 stalks (finely chopped) Green onion
  • 2 cloves (minced) Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon (grated) Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 30 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 0.5 cup (optional) Dipping sauce (soy sauce and rice vinegar mixed)

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, shredded cabbage, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Step 2

Set out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface and keep a small bowl of water nearby.

Step 3

Place 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.

Step 4

Dip your finger in water and lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half to form a half-moon shape, pressing the edges tightly to seal. Optionally, make small pleats along the sealed edge for a decorative look.

Step 5

Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling. Cover the completed pot stickers with a damp towel to prevent them from drying out.

Step 6

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place half the pot stickers in the skillet, flat-side down, in a single layer without overcrowding.

Step 7

Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 8

Carefully add 2 tablespoons of water to the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Let the pot stickers steam for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the wrappers are fully cooked.

Step 9

Remove the pot stickers from the skillet and repeat with the remaining batch using the other tablespoon of oil and water.

Step 10

Serve the pot stickers warm with dipping sauce on the side, if desired.
