  • 6 medium Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1.5 cups Heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 sprigs Fresh thyme
  • 0.5 cups Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Wash and peel the Yukon Gold potatoes, then slice them into thin rounds, about 1/8-inch thick.

Step 3

In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream, unsalted butter, garlic cloves (minced), and fresh thyme sprigs. Heat over low heat until the butter melts and the flavors infuse, about 5 minutes. Remove the thyme sprigs and discard.

Step 4

Grease a baking dish (about 9x13 inches) with a thin layer of butter.

Step 5

Arrange half of the potato slices in an even layer at the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle half of the salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese over the potatoes.

Pour half of the cream mixture evenly over the potatoes.

Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, salt, pepper, Parmesan, and cream mixture.

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.

Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C). Continue baking for an additional 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
