Ingredients

  • 1 pound Lump crab meat
  • 0.5 cup Crushed saltine crackers
  • 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.25 cup Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, gently pick over the crab meat to remove any shell pieces. Be careful not to break up the lumps of crabmeat.

Step 2

Add the crushed saltine crackers to the bowl with the crab meat.

Step 3

In a separate small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, and parsley until well combined.

Step 4

Gently fold the mayonnaise mixture into the crab mixture, being careful not to over-mix and break the crabmeat.

Step 5

Using your hands, shape the mixture into 4 evenly-sized patties. Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.

Step 6

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the crab cakes into the skillet.

Step 7

Cook the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp on the outside.

Step 8

Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Step 9

Serve immediately with your choice of tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or a side salad.
