  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, ground flaxseed, baking soda, and salt. Stir together and set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, melted coconut oil, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and well combined, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the wet mixture and beat until fully incorporated.
