Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cups evaporated milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 cups chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Line an 8x8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Set aside.

Step 2

In a medium-sized heavy-bottom saucepan, combine granulated sugar, unsalted butter, evaporated milk, and salt. Place over medium heat.

Step 3

Stir constantly as the mixture comes to a boil. Once boiling, continue to stir for 4-5 minutes to prevent sticking or burning. The mixture should thicken slightly.

Step 4

Remove the pan from heat and immediately stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and vanilla extract. Stir vigorously until the marshmallows and chocolate completely melt and the mixture is smooth.

Step 5

If desired, fold in the chopped nuts for added texture and flavor.

Step 6

Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the surface with a spatula.

Step 7

Let the fudge cool at room temperature for about 2 hours or until it sets completely. For faster results, refrigerate the dish for 30-60 minutes.

Step 8

Once the fudge is firm, lift it out of the dish using the parchment paper. Cut into 16 equal squares and serve.

Step 9

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
