Ingredients

  • 4 large Russet potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cups Heavy cream
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 1.5 cups Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoons Paprika

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Step 2

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices, about 1/8-inch thick. Use a mandoline slicer if available for even slices.

Step 3

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Pour the heavy cream into the saucepan with the butter and garlic. Season it with salt and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture is heated through (do not let it boil).

Step 5

Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in an even layer in the prepared baking dish.

Step 6

Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top.

Step 7

Repeat the process with the remaining potato slices, cream mixture, and Parmesan cheese to create a second layer.

Step 8

Sprinkle the paprika over the top layer for added color and flavor.

Step 9

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Step 10

Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Step 11

Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
