Ingredients

  • 1 pound Lump crab meat
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 0.25 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, freshly chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or individual ramekins if serving in portions.

Step 2

Carefully pick through the lump crab meat to remove any shells, being cautious not to break up the meat too much. Set aside.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.

Step 4

Gently fold in the lump crab meat into the mixture, being careful not to break the large chunks of crab.

Step 5

Spoon the crab mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish or ramekins.

Step 6

In a small pan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the breadcrumbs and paprika, coating the breadcrumbs evenly.

Step 7

Sprinkle the buttery breadcrumbs over the top of the crab mixture, creating an even layer.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the Crab Imperial is heated through.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Step 10

Serve warm as an appetizer or as a main dish with a side of salad or bread.
