Prepare a clean work area and gather all ingredients and tools, such as silicone cylinder molds (for shaping candles) and a small saucepan for melting the chocolate.
Grease the silicone molds lightly with unsalted butter to ensure the chocolate does not stick and allows for easy removal.
Melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a simmering saucepan (double boiler method) or in the microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
If desired, add a couple of drops of edible food coloring to the melted chocolate for a colored candle effect and mix well.
Pour the melted chocolate into the greased silicon molds, coating the sides evenly by swirling or brushing it around. Leave the centers hollow for the filling. Place the molds in the fridge to set for 15 minutes.
Once the chocolate has set, gently remove the chocolate shells from the molds. Handle with care to avoid cracking.
Using a small piping bag or spoon, fill the hollow centers of the chocolate shells with caramel sauce. Leave a small space at the top to seal the candle.
Melt a small amount of white chocolate again, and use it to seal the top of the filled chocolate cylinders. Smooth the top with the back of a spoon and allow it to set in the fridge for another 10 minutes.
Shape small wicks out of marzipan by rolling thin strands and curl slightly on one end for realism. Attach these 'wicks' to the center of the sealed top of each chocolate candle by gently pressing them into place.
For additional decoration, apply edible silver or gold leaf delicately to the chocolate candles, if desired.
Just before serving, place a small tuft of cotton candy at the top near the marzipan wick to resemble a soft, glowing flame. Serve the edible candles as a decoration atop your banana bread banoffee cheesecake for a stunning presentation.
