Ingredients

  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, paprika, and garlic powder. Dredge each pork chop in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.

Step 3

Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove pork chops from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced onions. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.

Step 6

Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.

Step 7

Stir in the heavy cream and return the pork chops to the skillet. Spoon some of the sauce over the chops.

Step 8

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the pork chops are cooked through and tender.

Step 9

Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
