Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces Marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cups Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 9 pieces Lasagna noodles, uncooked
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian seasoning

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Step 3

Stir the marinara sauce into the skillet and season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 4

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the shredded mozzarella (1 cup), and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until evenly combined.

Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Place 3 uncooked lasagna noodles in a single layer over the sauce.

Step 7

Spread one-third of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by one-third of the meat sauce. Repeat this process two more times, finishing with a layer of meat sauce on top.

Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella (1 cup) evenly over the top of the lasagna.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, making sure it does not touch the cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
