Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken wings or drumettes
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, prepare the marinade by whisking together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.

Step 2

Pat the chicken wings or drumettes dry with paper towels, then add them to the marinade. Toss to coat evenly.

Step 3

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Lightly grease the foil or parchment with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 5

Remove the wings from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off, and arrange them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Reserve the leftover marinade.

Step 6

Bake the chicken wings in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then flip them over and brush with the reserved marinade.

Step 7

Continue baking for another 15-20 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 8

If desired, broil the wings for 2-3 minutes at the end of cooking to achieve a crispier skin.

Step 9

Remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before transferring to a serving platter.

Step 10

Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Enjoy!
