Ingredients

  • 1 pound Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons Fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil (vegetable or canola)
  • 2 stalks Green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 4 servings Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil and swirl to coat the pan.

Step 3

Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until browned and just cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Add the minced ginger and garlic, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the top. Toss everything to coat evenly, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and the beef is fully glazed.

Step 6

Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if using.

Step 7

Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles for a complete meal.
