Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.75 cup Whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons Butter, melted (for topping)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.

Step 3

Add the chilled, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until well distributed.

Step 5

Gradually add the milk to the mixture, stirring gently with a spatula until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Using a large spoon or cookie scoop, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing the biscuits 1-2 inches apart. You should have about 8 biscuits.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.

Step 8

While the biscuits are baking, prepare the garlic butter topping by mixing the melted butter with the garlic powder in a small bowl.

Step 9

Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush the tops generously with the garlic butter topping. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top if you like.

Step 10

Serve the biscuits warm and enjoy!
