Ingredients

  • 225 grams Dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 115 grams Unsalted butter
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 30 grams Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 serving Fresh whipped cream or berries (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and prepare a 20 cm (8-inch) round springform pan by greasing it lightly and lining the bottom with parchment paper.

Step 2

Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and melt it together with the butter in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Alternatively, melt it in the microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring after each interval.
