Ingredients

  • 1 3-4 lbs Whole chicken
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth (optional)
  • 3 balls Aluminum foil (optional for elevation)

Directions

Step 1

Remove the giblets from the cavity of the chicken, then rinse the chicken under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme to create the rub.

Brush the chicken with olive oil to coat the surface evenly.

Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, including the cavity, making sure to evenly cover the skin for maximum flavor.
