Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 cups Whole milk
  • 0.25 cups Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large Egg (room temperature)
  • 0.75 cups Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cups Unsalted butter (softened, for filling)
  • 0.5 cups Pecans (optional, chopped)
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter (melted, for glaze)
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 3 tablespoons Corn syrup (light)
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well to combine.

Step 2

Heat the milk until warm (around 110°F). Add the melted butter and egg to the warm milk, then pour the mixture into the dry ingredients.

Step 3

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes until soft and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Step 5

Roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately 12x16 inches on a floured surface.

Step 6

Spread the softened butter for the filling evenly over the surface of the dough.

Step 7

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough. Optionally, sprinkle chopped pecans over the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Step 8

Starting from the longer side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice into 12 equal pieces using a sharp knife or dental floss.

Step 9

In a small saucepan, prepare the glaze by combining melted butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and heavy cream. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Pour the glaze into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, and sprinkle with more pecans if desired.

Step 10

Arrange the cinnamon roll slices over the prepared glaze in the dish, leaving a little space between each roll to allow for rising.

Step 11

Cover the dish and let the rolls rise again for 30 minutes, or until puffy.

Step 12

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Step 13

Allow the rolls to cool for 5 minutes after baking, then invert the dish onto a serving platter to let the sticky glaze coat the rolls.

Step 14

Serve warm and enjoy!
