Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Season pork chops on both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove the pork chops and set aside on a plate.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and butter. Reduce heat to medium and sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the chicken broth, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir well, scraping any browned bits from the bottom.

Step 6

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, cover with a lid, and steam for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.

Step 7

Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them among the broccoli. Cover and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 8

Serve the pork chops and broccoli immediately, spooning the pan sauce over the top for extra flavor.
