Ingredients

  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound beef stew meat
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the beef stew meat and sear on all sides until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef and set aside.

Step 3

Dice the yellow onion and mince the garlic. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the diced onion. Cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

Step 4

Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Return the seared beef to the skillet and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Step 5

Cover and cook over low heat for 25 minutes or until the beef is tender.

Step 6

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and water until smooth. Gradually add the mixture to the skillet while stirring constantly to thicken the sauce. Simmer for 3-5 more minutes.

Step 7

Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss them gently to coat in the sauce.

Step 8

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot. Enjoy!
