Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Boneless pork shoulder (or pork butt)
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cups Chicken or beef broth
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 6 pieces Brioche buns (or hamburger buns)
  • 2 cups Coleslaw (optional, for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Place the thinly sliced onion and minced garlic into the bottom of the crock pot.

Step 2

Rub the pork shoulder all over with salt, black pepper, and paprika, then place it on top of the onion and garlic in the crock pot.

Step 3

Pour the chicken or beef broth into the crock pot around the pork to keep it moist during cooking.

Step 4

Cover the crock pot with its lid and set it to cook on Low for 8 hours (or on High for 4-5 hours).

Step 5

At the end of the cooking time, use two forks to shred the pork directly in the crock pot, removing any excess fat as needed.

Step 6

Stir in the BBQ sauce, mixing well to coat the pork evenly. Allow the pork to cook for an additional 15-20 minutes to warm the sauce through.

Step 7

Toast the brioche buns, if desired, and place a generous amount of the shredded BBQ pork onto each bun.

Step 8

Top the pork with coleslaw for added crunch and flavor, if using.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy your easy BBQ pork sandwiches!
