Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 cup White or brown rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 medium, diced Onion
  • 2 cloves, minced Garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Frozen peas and carrots
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep frying pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.

Step 3

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon or spatula as it cooks. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

Step 4

Stir in the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, mixing well to coat the beef in the flavors.

Step 5

Add the rice, water, salt, and black pepper to the pan. Stir to combine, then bring the mixture to a boil.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and simmer for 15 minutes (or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed). Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Step 7

Once the rice is cooked, stir in the frozen peas and carrots. Cover again and let the mixture heat through for 3-5 minutes.

Step 8

Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Serve hot and enjoy your easy and quick hamburger and rice dinner!
