Ingredients

  • 14 oz Sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups Semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 cup Nuts (optional, chopped)

Directions

Step 1

Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the lining with butter or non-stick spray.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, semisweet chocolate chips, and unsalted butter.

Step 3

Place the saucepan over low heat and stir constantly with a silicone spatula or wooden spoon until the chocolate chips and butter are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. This should take about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Once melted, remove the saucepan from heat and immediately stir in the vanilla extract and salt. If using chopped nuts, fold them into the fudge mixture at this point.

Step 5

Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with the spatula. Tap the pan gently on the counter to level the surface and remove any air bubbles.

Step 6

Let the fudge cool at room temperature for about an hour, then transfer it to the refrigerator to set completely. This will take at least 2 hours.

Step 7

Once set, use the parchment or foil overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan. Transfer to a cutting board and cut into 16 squares or desired sizes.

Step 8

Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Serve and enjoy!
