Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup Vodka
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 4 ounces Blueberry vodka
  • 2 ounces Triple sec
  • 1 cup Ice cubes
  • 2 pieces Lemon twist or extra blueberries (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

1. Begin by making the drunken blueberries. In a small bowl, combine the fresh blueberries and vodka. Cover the bowl and let the blueberries soak in the vodka for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for more intense flavor).

Step 2

2. While the blueberries soak, prepare the blueberry simple syrup. In a small saucepan, combine 0.5 cup of fresh blueberries, water, and granulated sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved and the blueberries burst, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

3. Remove the blueberry simple syrup from the heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean jar or bowl, pressing on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids and set the syrup aside to cool completely.

Step 4

4. To prepare the blueberry martinis, fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the blueberry vodka, triple sec, 2 tablespoons of the blueberry simple syrup, and a splash of lemon juice.

Step 5

5. Shake the cocktail shaker vigorously for about 15 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled.

Step 6

6. Strain the mixture evenly into two chilled martini glasses.

Step 7

7. Garnish each martini with a couple of drunken blueberries or a lemon twist for an extra touch of elegance.

Step 8

8. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing burst of blueberry goodness!
