Ingredients

  • 2 racks pork ribs
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 0.33 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks green onions

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.

Step 3

Pat the pork ribs dry with paper towels and rub the spice mixture evenly on both sides of the ribs.

Step 4

Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, cover tightly with aluminum foil, and bake in the oven for 2.5 hours until tender.

Step 5

While the ribs are baking, prepare the Dragon's Breath sauce by combining the hot sauce, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and red chili flakes in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Step 6

Add the unsalted butter to the saucepan and stir until the butter has melted and the sauce is smooth. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened, then remove from heat.

Step 7

Once the ribs are done baking, remove them from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).

Step 8

Brush the ribs generously with the prepared sauce on both sides and place them back in the oven, uncovered, for 15–20 minutes until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.

Step 9

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Step 10

Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Step 11

Serve hot, with extra sauce on the side if desired.
